About the event

Nondual dzogchen (great perfection) is a new online offering of regular introductions into the Non-Path of the Great Christic Consummation, the heart essence of primordial reality which is the absolute interiority of the Triune. Traditionally, dzogchen or the great perfection sits at the pinnacle of the Buddhist path as conceived within the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Vajrayana Buddhism.

On the basis of shamatha (serene stillness) and vipassana (celar seeing), dzogchen "practice" involves empowering introduction into the essence of mind and its effulgent display (rigpai tsalwang) from an authentic dzogchen teacher. This essential introduction can spontaneously happen in the context of guru yoga in the presence of uncontrived devotional energy and blissfulness. It can also happen in the context of a natural pointing-out by the teacher to the student through specific, direct, emergent, and immediate words of instruction aiming straight at the heart of present-instant experience, striking its crucial points. That said, such pointing-out is efficacious only when imbued and suffused with an open and warm, fresh and sweet ambience of devotion on the part of the student.

Here, devotion is not blind faith or emotional submissiveness. Rather, devotion in the Dharma is pure unadulterated willingness and openness of the heart to that which inspires one's informed confidence. The dzogchen teacher is not an idol of blind faith placed high on a pedestal but a living, breathing, wise, and compassionate presence located in the horizon of the student's life narrative and experience, with the sole purpose of being a beacon of awakening for the student. Awarezen's nondual dzogchen embraces this traditional understanding and is saturated with the spirit and perspective of devotional nonduality, a sublime middle-way view that is very often misconstrued as dualistic personalism or undifferentiated oneness due to instincts of dualistic self-grasping in the mass psyche.

Awarezen's nondual dzogchen introduction is delivered through a seamless integration of guru-yoga and direct pointing-out instructions (sem-tri) to students sufficiently matured and purified in mind, heart, and life energy. To date, this wondrous transmission has only taken place in the crucible of Christic Be:longing Satsang to less than a handful of sincere aspirants. It is the heart of the teacher to open this to more authentic aspirants who are ready to commit to this Path and are sufficiently matured or willing to mature.

In terms of Lineage, Awarezen's dzogchen transmission was received through Lama Alan Wallace (in the short direct lineage of Dudjom Lingpa 1835-1904) and Chogyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche, in addition to careful study and experience through documented teachings of luminaries such as Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche and Mahamudra master Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche. Ultimately, they are all traceable to Adiguru Yeshua when perceived through the perspective of the nondual cosmotheandric Christ indivisble from Adibuddha Samantabhadra.
