Is our education system fragmentary, functional, and thus incomplete and shallow? I say it is. For a long time now and especially in the present day, we are educated to conform to society’s dictates, no matter how fanciful the official line is. We’re already robots. AI is mere adornment.
We are conditioned into dullness and functionality. We give instrumental problem-solving an exalted name like “critical thinking” or “deep inquiry” or something else. We have come to believe in the concoctions of our own minds and to identify with the whole lot of lies we tell ourselves. We love our prisons.
If there is no awakening of intelligence, which is sensitivity that cuts deep, there can be no true education. In essence, education liberates. Without sensitivity but with conformity which breeds fear and with fear which breeds conformity, there is no freedom. Education becomes a farce.
